This 18 mile 2-day Judged Pleasure ride was held May 18 & 19th - the traditional long weekend in May for this ride which has been held in some form for decades. Lucy Rudge & Elwood Munroe are the Trailmasters for this ride, marking trail after deciding the best route according to the season & the affect weather has had on the trails. Ride camp is at the Stanley-Mosherville community hall, crosses the road to the old rail bed, travels along North River Road past Evangeline Trail Rides and then right onto the woods roads surrounding Stanley Airport. Halfway is is held on trail, then riders finish the ride heading back to ride camp for final judging. Bev Elliott kept riders busy while waiting for final scores/placings by choosing an easter egg from the blooming forsythia in the middle of ride camp. Each egg corresponded to a prize on the prize table - some of which were ride entries to other ACTRA rides! Supper was fantastic pizza from Brooklyn Pizza, an ice cream cake from Mantua store and Elwood's famous stewed rhubarb! This was a fun ride with great trails and a perfect venue for unpredictable spring weather!
