Description / Notes:

Mud Run JP 2026
Sunday, May 17, 2026 - if you are riding you must be on site by 10:00 am.
This Judged Pleasure ride is a fun 15 mile ride over easy, well marked trails. We will ride on a combination of the Rails to Trail, gravel roads, and dirt tracks to the halfway hold of 30 min before you turn around and ride back to ride camp along the same route. This is a great introduction ride for newbies or novices. The ride camp at the Stanley Mosherville Hall at 346 Highway 236 in Stanley, Hants Co, NS, has space to park your trailer and has water for your horse and a bathroom for the riders.
After the ride, we celebrate with a lovely home cooked supper before handing out the awards. For more info about this ride or Distance Riding in general - contact Ride Manager: Lucy Rudge at: lucyrudge1@gmail.com
Your horse will be inspected by the judge before and after the ride - and checked for health/fitness at the halfway hold (we call this 'fit to continue')
Hoof protection is recommended due to crushed stone on the gravel roads.
The suggested ride time of this event is about 4 hours at mostly walk/trot but since this is a Judged Pleasure ride there is no time limit.
Please complete and submit the ACTRA sanctioned ride entry form attached below and/or found on our website under Forms at www.atlanticriders.ca before May 15th. The completed entry form should be sent to the Ride Secretary, Kim Crowell at: kimcrowell01@bellaliant.net. E-transfers for payment can also be sent to Kim’s email address or a cheque mailed to: Kim Crowell, P.O. Box 136 Shubenacadie, NS, B0N 2H0. Entry is not considered complete until the form and entry fee have both been received. Late fee of $10 per entry applies to entries received after 10 pm, May 11, 2026.
Refunds: Entry fee will be returned if a rider is unable to attend less a $10.00 admin fee. We ride rain or shine.
You must be a member of your provincial sport organization to participate in this event (insurance requirement), but you don't have to be a member of ACTRA. New members always welcome!
If you are coming from a distance and want to overnight closer to the ride camp, but don't know what options are available, please reach out to Lucy Rudge or Kim Crowell as there are some members that live closer to the ride camp that can provide stalls or paddocks for turnout for the horses and a place to sleep for the humans.
If you would like to volunteer at the ride, please contact either Lucy Rudge or Kim Crowell via email or messenger. All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.

meals:
Breakfast: muffins and pastries plus coffee, tea and/or juice. Lunch: Light lunch of sandwiches, fruit, snacks and water will be provided to riders and volunteers.
